Hi! My name is Ester Rodriguez. I am excited to teach your child this year for PreK! This is my first year teaching. I am a proud graduate of The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. I received my Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in Early Childhood. During my free time, I enjoy crocheting, watching Reality TV and movies, and thrifting at second hand stores among other things.
In my classroom, we practice shared control and active learning, in that your child will have an active role if what skills we focus on and the different ways that we might do that. Active learning means that your child will be engaged every minute of the day in all activities and parts of the day. Even when you may think they are just playing, my assistant and I are there playing alongside them to continue building upon what they are doing. One thing you should know is that my teaching assistant and I will focus on your child as a whole. We will assist your child in developing their academic skills as well as their social emotional skills. I look forward to keeping you involved in your child's journey.
